Job Duties
Interview candidates and provide recommendations to the direct line of authority.
Prepare section’s yearly budget as per corporate objectives.
Cascade unit objectives into section & individual objectives and ensure proper alignment.
Prepare, measure and maintain accurate section & individual KPIs on a regular basis.
Coach, develop and motivate team members to reach optimum performance & successfully contribute in achieving corporate, department & unit objectives.
Develop and maintain the company’s quality management system effectively & efficiently.
Conduct staff meeting with team members in all regions on a quarterly basis to reinforce company’s culture & values and discuss team related issues & concerns.
Monitor and ensure efficient & appropriate use of resources (financial, human, physical, IT, etc.) to achieve the planned objectives & support smart spending strategy.
Receive other departments or units’ requests in daily basis and implement the needed actions related COA for example creating, modifying, closing/inactivating of accounts.
Review the charts of accounts in coordination with concerning other departments managers quarterly in order to ensure the accuracy and relevance of chart of accounts to cover activities.
Review the preparation of monthly, quarterly, & annual accounting closing activities made by GL Accountants especially related to recording accruals & provisions, prepayments, foreign currencies evaluation, reconciliations & accounting settlements, and require amendment once needed.
Prepare quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS & applicable Syrian laws.
Receive external and internal auditors’ requirements and prepare replies, required documents & information.
Ensure the compliance with organizational policies by developing and maintaining respective processes & procedures.
Ensure the compliance with IFRS, make recommendations and take actions when needed.
Analyze and report variances & fluctuations.
Review and approve monthly on payroll, payroll summary report, domiciliation letter and tax on salaries calculation.
Review cash and bank reconciliation prepared by accountants.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Experience
3 years relevant experience is required, preferably in telecom.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Good level in English and Microsoft Office is required.
